This page is dedicated to those Motoring Journo's who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Possibly the new kid in the office and thinks nothing drives better than his Hyundi Excel, lowered, 8 speaker system with subs, dark tint windows, undercarriage neon's and a 5" exhaust!
This was spotted by a member on Holiday on the Gold Coast, I wonder if the Owners Knew it was being road tested by a Journo, whilst in the garage?
I was not aware these cars came with a Rover 3 litre V8, let alone Rover made a 3 Litre V8 in those days
This was in the Geelong Advertiser in October 2005
And an outraged member decided to give the Journo a serve, I'd like to see the TR1's he mentioned in the article.
Dear David,
I read with dismay in the Cars Guide of 29/10/05 your article relating to the serious defects of the Triumph TR6 models from as early as 1968.
You state in your article the marque embodied serious defects such as steering apparatus known to break on rough roads, brake warning lights blowing out of dashboard sockets, accelerator linkage problems and windshield wiper/washer failures. I have not heard of these problems occurring on the frequent basis you state in your article and I would suggest the occurrence is more of an isolated nature.
It is further disappointing to note that you don’t take the time to mention that in 1969 the Triumph TR6 featured rack & pinion steering, front wheel disc brakes, independent front and rear suspension, synchro on all forward gears, a 150 b.h.p six cylinder fuel injected engine, flow through ventilation and that a significant number of the American examples were fitted with air-conditioning!
Perhaps next time you choose to criticize a car consider the whole picture rather than quote obscure examples you may have heard of over a beer with an Austin Healey driver!

Now Back to the Stag
Debs sent me an interesting article from October 2005’s Readers Digest, it was about lemons, not just any old lemons, but many of us own some of these lemons, I followed up on the article Debs sent me and I ended up buying a couple of interesting books. This is an extract of one of the books.
Many people have a bad word about the Stag and not to many have good words, after all the original owners of our Stags probably did nothing but complain about them.
The above article, was written by Tony Davis. Tony has penned two humourous paperbacks titled "Lemon" and "Extra Lemon" published by Bantam Books through Random House Publishing, both are very funny books and make a good read, they are available at all major booksellers, cost $16.95 each.
This article has been reproduced with kind permission of Tony Davis.

These articles are in good taste and are meant to be funny and are not to be taken too seriously, We’ve all heard the bad stories about the Stag and other Triumphs and I am sure there will be more.
